Privacy policy

Mundinautic is a platform for boat owners and marine professionals: the mundinautic.com website and the iPhone and Android apps. This policy explains what data we process, why, who we share it with and how you can exercise your rights or delete your account.

Last updated: 14 October 2026

1. Who is responsible

Data controller: Jordi Gerard Pi Maruejouls (Mundinautic), NIF 41563140R, Local 21, Port d'Aro, 17250 Platja d'Aro (Girona), España.

For any question about your data, write to info@mundinautic.com.

2. What data we process

  • Your account: name, email address and, if you give it, phone number. Your password is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google): we never see it.
  • Your boats: the boat details (type, make, model, size, engines, registration, flag, home port…), the photos you upload, the images we create from them, the boat documents you upload (registration certificate, seaworthiness certificate, insurance policy…) and the maintenance log (jobs, hours, costs, equipment and reminders).
  • What you request and publish: requests for parts, services, insurance and paperwork; bookings and quotes with professionals; berth listings with their photos, your messages with other users and your search alerts.
  • If you are a professional (Mundinautic Pro or a seller on Mundinautic): your business and team details, your listings and fees, and the details of your customers and their boats that you record for your work.
  • If you write to us: your name, your email address and your message.
  • The technical data the service needs to work (session, language and preferences) and, on the website and only if you accept them, Google Ads cookies that measure our advertising campaigns.

The app shows no advertising, uses no analytics tools and does not access your location. Phone reminders are scheduled on the phone itself, and only if you turn them on.

3. Why we use it and on what legal basis

  • To provide the service: your account, your boats’ details and log, expiry reminders, requests, bookings, listings and Mundinautic Pro. Legal basis: performance of the contract you accept when you sign up (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • The artificial intelligence features you ask for: creating the boat images, reading its documents to fill in the details and looking up what the model is like. Legal basis: performance of the contract.
  • Sending you service messages (reminders, quotes, replies) in the app and by email. Legal basis: performance of the contract.
  • Answering your questions. Legal basis: your consent when you write to us.
  • Keeping the service secure, preventing fraud and reviewing listings. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Complying with our legal obligations. Legal basis: legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
  • Measuring the results of our advertising campaigns on the website (Google Ads). Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time from the cookie banner.

We do not make automated decisions with legal effects on you or build marketing profiles, and we do not sell your data.

4. Who we share it with

  • The professionals you choose: when you send them a request, ask for a booking or a quote, or link your boat with them, they receive what is needed (your name and contact details and, about the boat, what you allow them to see). Each professional is responsible for the data kept in their own records.
  • Other users: what you publish in a berth listing is public (without your email) and your messages are only seen by the other person.
  • Providers working for us, under contract and only to provide the service: Google (Firebase, for authentication and the database, and Google Ads on the website if you accept it), the company hosting our server, our email service, OpenAI (creates the boat images from your photos) and Anthropic (reads the boat documents and looks up the model). Under their business terms, OpenAI and Anthropic do not use this data to train their models.
  • Authorities, only when the law requires it.

When a professional records their customers’ details in Mundinautic Pro, they are the controller of that data and Mundinautic processes it on their behalf, as a processor.

5. Transfers outside the European Union

Google, OpenAI and Anthropic may process data in the United States, with the safeguards required by the GDPR: the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

6. How long we keep it

  • For as long as you have an account. You can delete a boat, a document, a log entry or a listing whenever you like.
  • Berth listings expire after 90 days unless you renew them.
  • If you delete your account, we delete your data straight away, except anything the law requires us to keep, which we keep blocked and only for the legal period.
  • Website Google Ads cookies, for 90 days at most.

7. Deleting your account

You can delete your account and your data at any time: in the app, under Account → Delete my account, and on the website, on the «Delete your account» page.

Delete your account

Your profile, your boats with their log, images and documents, and your requests, listings, alerts and notifications are deleted straight away. The professionals you have worked with keep their own records (work orders, quotes and bookings) without any link to your account, and the messages you sent to other users stay in their conversation without your name. If you manage a business account, write to us and we will close it with you.

8. Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, its rectification or erasure, restriction of processing and portability, object to processing and withdraw your consent at any time by writing to info@mundinautic.com. You can exercise many of them yourself in the app or on the website.

If you think we have not handled your data properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) or the authority in your country.

9. How we protect it

All communication is encrypted (HTTPS), each account only sees its own data and what others share with it, and boat documents are stored in a private folder on the server that cannot be reached from the internet: they can only be downloaded with their owner’s session.

10. Children

Mundinautic is intended for adults. It is not aimed at children under 14 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

11. Cookies

The website uses the essential technical cookies (session, language and your cookie choice) and, only if you accept them, Google Ads cookies to measure our campaigns. The app uses no advertising cookies: it stores your session and preferences on the phone.

If we change it, we will show it here with the update date and, if the change is significant, we will let you know.
